DAC Aviation and ECHO Flight have begun weekly flights to northern Uganda

As of February 2017, DAC Aviation and ECHO Flight have begun weekly scheduled flights to northern Uganda in order to respond to the growing South Sudanese refugee crisis. According to UNHCR, the average daily influx of refugees into Uganda was 2,800 per day in mid-March. More than one million South Sudanese child refugees had arrived by the start of May 2017 looking to escape drought and violence. The Bidi Bidi refugee camp in northern Uganda has rapidly become the world’s largest refugee camp, with at least 800,000 people.
